ive made up my mind instead of doing the RHD now ima wait and get the GSR engine now... i have a 98 LS now, i dont know if themotor mounts change between 94-01 for the GSR model... here are my two choices http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...91018

now im going to be getting oversized ITR pistons and rods and a cam upgrade to keep in mind

i will need a new harness and ecu correct?

yes you will need a new harness and ecu...also a new tranny. you'll want a gsr, type or or b16 tranny because your gsr will now shitty paired to the ls tranny and if your going to buy a new motor get it from http://www.hmotorsonline.com

yes they r good for engines.... also yes u can use your motor mounts they r fine with any b series motor u would like to put in your integra also your ls tranny bolts up but i would think about wat yc_dc4mar told u about the b16 type r and gsr tranny if u r staying n/a

 

so the tranny isnt a Need, its just a nice to have??? whats the down side of useing my LS tranny?

well its my daily driver so no racing maybe 100+ on I-4 and 417

 

which ecu will i need??? does it matter if i get a ecu meant for 94-97 or the 98+ecu's? what will happen if i run the wrong ecu?

 

if you dont mind a car that will feel held back you can continue to use the LS transmission. You can actually use either ecu but if you get one from a 94-97 you would need to get an obd2-obd1 conversion harness. Im pretty sure you dont need to get an entire new engine harness all you need to do is wire up vtec which your harness obviously doesnt have. Back to the ecu issue, if you are going to modify the internals of the motor then I would probably go with the 94-07 gsr ecu and get it chipped and tuned as you cant chip a 98+

 

yea if u get a obd1 motor or a obd1 ecu u will need a conversion harness because a 98 integra is obd2

 

if your gonna rebuild it why waste the money getting one from japan??? if your going to change the internals a JDM motor is not any better.

Just get one from Craigslist. you can pick up motors with blown headgaskets or popped rings all day. Get a b16 or GSR tranny and put an LS 5th gear in it for highway gas mileage. Nice choice with the .25 oversize stuff. But if im not mistaken Type R rods and GSR rods are the same...

Take your extra cash and get some nice wheels and tires a really nice custom 2.5 exhaust. with a resonator and a nice muffler say an RSR exmag or a full type R exhaust. or maybe even some type r lips and a type r wing and have your ride repainted. leave the lips black tho. just my 2 cents

and dont forget about some basic machine work. The bore/hone, crank micropolish, hot tank and balance should only be about 250-300 depending on where you go.

sell your LS and buy a GSR. you will be money ahead, not to mention the countless hours. this is a no brainer from my point of view.

 

I got used bc3+ cams + valvetrain i will be swaping for sk2 pro 1's, good mild cam with good mid range give an offer $450obo

And i got a 98" gsr tranny with jdm b16 LSD!!!!, f-1 stg2 clutch/act clutch kit, has SLIGHT!! grinds you can find my ad in the marketplace $$650 picked up obo! s.d locals..

theres a big difference with the tranny you use. ls trannys rob alot of power on your setup.
