tough descion - Accord or not
I am getting sick of my Civic (EG6) yes its quick (180whp), yes it handles well, yes its fun, yes its relible and looks good but the cons are I can't park anywhere without getting attention, any pot hole/bump is an obsticle, no A/C, can barely go anywhere in winter. Cops love the car as well.
I had all I wanted in the car, every motor possible, every seat possible, steering wheels, shocks and many more things... its not exciting any more.
Its getting a little boring and getting on my nerves, not sure which one is more annoying. I am done school and need something more refined, so that when i park nothing will worry me. So that the constant pouring the $$$ will go elswhere where it counts; house, gf or family.
I thinking of getting either a 94-7 Honda Accord EX-R sedan or coupe (not sure which one) or 94+ Teg 4dr.
if I go with a Accord then definatly only very minor mods will be done..ie. wheels, maybe some bolt ons.....with a Teg i am afraid i'll fall into the trap again.
also how quick is a 5th gen H22a powered Accord??
any opinions, comments, express them
my eg as of right now:
what I want to get is along these lines

I know what you mean about the eg hatches. In the city mine does get a bit old, but I still enjoy a newly paved back road
As for the new car: The Accord type R is damn sweet
I'd say take a few H22 powered accords for a spin and see how you like it. Good luck.

I love H22A Accords. You can make it handle relatively well, it's a nice family car, you can totally make it fun for the whole family, and of course the H22A. I know someone who's pushing 225 hp in a 94 H22A Accord with I/H/E + type S cams, ignition upgrades and tuning. Also, almost everything from the Lude bolts up to the Accord. You wouldn't need any custom axles and whatnot. H22A's are cheap too, when compared to the more popular B18C swaps.
the accords are pretty quick with a h22a in them, i have an automatic one in my car , i can spin the tires off the line with 18's without holding the brake. Its basicly a cruiser car to me, i dont use it for race thats why i left it automatic. Got my civic for the fun time.
An GSR 4dr sounds like a good idea but my brother is trying to find one used and is not having much luck. An Accord would also be pretty sweet but it would probably be like driving a boat compared to your hatch.
drove a H22a prelude sr-v just few minutes ago....seems fairly quick but very disjoint from the road...other then that pretty nice....wonder how do 5th gen compare to the ludes? (defiantly don't want a prelude)
My friend has a pretty bad *** 98 Accord coupe ex v-6. Here is a link to his mods

and a pic for all yall

oh, and btw he is plannin a new cl type-s swap with a custom built turbo.

As long as you are driving a Honda, the problem will be the same. You'll find yourself gutting the trunk or something not practical. If you want comfort, get a different car entirely. Go buy a truck. If you get another Honda, it will still be modded, and potholes will still bother you, and cops will think you're dealing in an Acorrd.
your eg looks nice... but to avoid all that trouble... it seems like the investment into an accord would be wise... but with any type of hondas... you will probably be tempted to fix it up like your eg... most likely bringing you back to square one... but i would probably go with the accord.. especially if you will be rolling around with an h22 in there
noooooooooo dont get rid of your hatchy hatch! its super nice now, dont do it!
LOL, really, I see your points though. Stay Away from a 4dr GSR, they are still theft magnets, and you will want the same performance out of it after some time.
Really you need a H22 Accord or I agree about getting a totally different car... meaning NOT a Honda.
If it were me, moving into family/gf/comfy-car then I would buildup an Accord Type R but keep it as stealthy looking as possible. And I know you of all people have the resources and nuts to do it right

don't do it keep the hatchy you will regret it believe me i sold h22 Si last week and i'm already contemplating if i made the right descision ,i still the cx but it's like you lose a part of you, just get a beater car to drive around and that would be your best bet i remember i bought a 1990 nissan sentra for 700 bucks and that has been the best car i've owned to date didn't have to worry about potholes, theft or ant of that crap,i'd do that if i were you

don't get me wrong, i loved my EG too. but lude is just so much more convinient. you got all the power, ac, sunroof, a nice H22 motor, leather interior, etc. it's not a monster or anything but it has some kick. mid 14's with just a few basic bolt-on's...
i would take an SR-V (VTEC) prelude over any accord any day.
i don't know, but for some reason people who never drove/owned a prelude, don't really like them. no one gives a rats *** about them. but people who own them, LOVE them. ask the guys in the prelude forum. you'll get the same answer.
also, prelude was voted the best sports coupe under $25K many times, it wasn't the accord, not GSR, not civic... prelude. there is a reason for that.
although i love honda cars, prelude is just exceptional for the price. i owned a B18C1turbo powered CRX, a B16 EG, and drove my g/f's GSR for a long time.
i love all of them, they're all great cars. but i chose the prelude.
now your taste may be different from mine. but i'd say you can't go wrong with the prelude. if it must be a sedan, then an H22 accord would be nice.
whatever you get, good luck to you.
Very nice hatch!
I say get the accord...those are really nice looking cars and i would assume create less atraction from thieves!

Live by this equation young grasshoppa:

Accord/Prelude will never be as agile as a gutted h/b (those pesky laws of physics you see).... but either one can hold the road quite tenaciously given the right setup (read: "sticky tires").
Too bad we dont get too many factory turbo cars on this continent.
Bottom line is: if you get a car with potential, you will eventually want to take advantage of it.
So get yourself a nice K-car (omni, horizon, reliant, etc, etc, etc...) and leave it at that. No wait...... shelby turbo engines bolt in there. Nevermind.
Thus I say you get yourself a nice early-mid 80's Mercedes-Benz Diesel (NO TURBO!)
and slap some 18" Lorinzer's **bling bling** and dont give it another thought.

ps. definitely no Integra.... you will inevitably be in the same boat you're in now in no time.

possibly the car will be sold in a week or two...I defiantly decided to go Accord....
who knows if I'll regret it or not, what I know for sure is that I want change...
