I'm sure the Expo honchos are determining where their membership comes from.
I know I can't (too much gas $$$) tow the Exedy car to the west coast. I will come to E9 if it's a "reasonable" distance (from the north east area).
(BTW- Anyone talked to the folks at the new New Jersey track? It's owned by the same folks as VIR... top notch track from what I understand).
I guess those in charge will have to do an ROI analysis and figure out which track works for those "most-likely" to come. Keep in mind, gas and Diesel prices are expected to remain at this level for the foreseeable future.
JW- Keep it on the east side, yo!

Well, I know not many west coasters would attend If it's midwest or east coast. But how many of you east coast peeps would attend if it's in the midwest? I'd like to run autobahn, mid-ohio, gratten, beaver run.

Based on experience, not many West Coasters would attend if it's out West, either.

Previous ITR Expos have been held at BeaveRun (twice), GingerMan, and Mid-America Motorplex. And many of the ITR folks from up and down the East Coast attended.
I'm not assuming anything, as far as where next year's event will be. There is an organizing committee that makes that decision, and they take into account all the relevant factors, including the track's safety (e.g. runoff areas), fun, proximity to ITR owners who have attended past events, cost, availability on desirable dates, etc. They know all the things to look at, and I'm sure they'll take all of that into account to come up with the best decision.
Incidentally, if you're looking for a Midwest track event before the end of the summer, I hear there are still a few openings in the two-day track event at Putnam Park on August 24 weekend, held by the Windy City Chapter BMW CCA. I'll be there instructing in my Phoenix Yellow you-know-what. If you haven't been to Putnam, it's a great little track - very safe with lots of runoff areas, yet a lot of flow that makes it fun even for those who have been going there a long time. Putnam Park is 40 miles west of Indianapolis, about 3.5 hours from Chicago.
