hey guys i am looking to get some new wheels for my gf's '96 accord lx. i've been searching around for awhile in the accord forums but i don't seem to be having much luck finding anything regarding a good wheel/tire size combo as easy as i would in the integra forums.

basically i am looking to keep the tire diameter the same or close to stock. but what size wheel would work/look/perform best for a daily driver? 16"? 17"?

the car is G83P Eucalyptus Green Pearl (dark sea-green looking color) and i am thinking some bronze rota SDX's would look good but they only come in 17" 4x114.3.. i might look into some bronze Grids too since i see a 16" and 17" 4x114.3.. but i like the 7 spoke SDX design better than the 6 spoke Grid design..

anyhow, would anyone know a good wheel/tire size combo for a 96 accord? thanks in advance!

Right now with my Accord coupe I have a set of 16x7's on it, with 205/50/16's as tires. They are comfortable and can take the NJ roads just fine even though I have Eibach Sportlines with KYB AGX's as my suspension. You want to have a modestly thick tire more for ride quality and shock absorption as much as filling in the fenderwell and having the car look complete without a huge gap.
To also improve on ride quality, in the near future I am also going to buy Honda OEM bushings for my car and switch out these old ones with new ones, believe it or not, a friend of mine did that in his 91 accord coupe, and man, let me tell you, there is a huge difference in ride quality and the cars ability to handle sub-par roads. Polyurethane aftermarket bushings are very stiff so I decided to pass on those.

 

205/50/16 is not a bad match for the car if you drive over various road conditions.

 

IMO... 16" is the best compromise

get 16's no 17's i have 17x7 enkies and i live in detriot, the tires are so thin all the bumpy roads make it very harsh ride.... i got them 17's cause it was cheap got it for 250 legit, my neighbor went broke as hell and need his payment on his car, so he sold me the rims cheapo!

for dd yes defintly 16 are the way to go ...205/50/16 comfortable
