Planning on buying a 96-00 civic + swap + boost, few questions

I am planning on buying a 1996-2000 DX and doing an engine swap and boosting it...
For the engine I would like a K20 but I have a feeling that it's going to be too expensive. The budget for the entire project is maximum of 10k. Instead I think I'll be getting a B18C engine.
My questions:
1. Is it hard to swap a B18C into a '96-'00 DX?
2. Which turbo kit would be best for me?/How Much does it cost?
3. Would the engine need rebuilding to accommodate the boost?
4. How much HP can I expect after the swap and boost?
Thanks!</TD></TR></TABLE>
Every one of those questions could have been answered by looking at the first 3-5 threads at the top of the page
To swap in the engine properly you will need the proper vtec engine harness for your year whether it's OBD-2A or OBD-2B.
Best turbo kit? Take your pic, theres hundreds of them on the market. Just dont buy their FMU's, buy a chipped ecu with a conversion/step down harness and have it tuned professionally.
Depends on how much boost you want to run to dictate if it needs to be rebuilt. Under 10lbs......probably safe for daily driving with a good tune.
How much HP? What do you want the #'s to say? You will have to decide what your looking for in those terms and that will determine if you need a built block or not.
If you want 500whp, yes you want to build you block/head. Shooting for 240-300ish, probably dont have to worry too much about it..........So long as you have a safe tune

Good call
No EBAY specials.......you get what you paid for.
The most cost effective way is to piece it together.

if you want a motor cheap and boost friendly i would go with an ls motor.
but maybe a b18c5 stock will keep you happy while you save up for the turbo kit.
If i were you i'd take it one step at a time get use to the car.
I would also suggest a couple of suspension upgrades before the turbo
make sure you can keep it under control ya feel me?

is big difference in the bank when it comes to type r swaps and k20 is the actual labor of the swap. Yes you can get a k20 for 3 grand, but you'll spend another 3 to 4 on swap components and custom fab work to get the motor in the car and runnin, where as the b18's are just pretty much a Drop In type deal.
go k20 if you've got that cash.
But it seems like you may be new to this scene all around. So do yourself a favor and do the research before you blow the money.

An ls motor is the motor out of an LS integra. It's a B series motor.

yeah, they dont have as much n/a power as most other b series motors, but they eat forced air for [freak]in breakfast son.
haha it has low compression compared to the vtec modles. Low compression=more boost.

Basically yeah. Less horsepower than other b series motors and no VTEC. Decent torque due to it being a 1.8.
