Default i got three questions please help

just like the post says .. i got some question and i was hoping HT could help with answers

1) i recently picked up a d16a6 block so i could do a mini me setup.. i was in the process of cleaning off the block when one of my friends told me to leave the tops of the pistons the way the were. so i was wondering can i clean them off or should i just leave them alone

2)i was originally planning on going turbo with my crx .. but i changed my mind and i just want to a fun DD. problem is i had already installed the 255 fuel pump and i dont have the stock one anymore. yes i did search and i know you can run it.. but my question is will it kill my fuel efficiency since i will not be running dsm injectors anymore

3) what traction bar is this???

thank you in advance for all your help

1. Pic isn't good enough to tell. If it's just baked on soot no big deal.
2. Any tuning what so ever possible?
3. old ETD?

If that is the g1 ETD yes people have had issues with it. I'm not 100% sure that it is an OLD ETD bar just my best guess.

I wouldn't risk a g1 bar. I myself have a g2 and am happy with it, I had an FR but I just wanted to try things out i'm a do-er learner.

While the head is off you should pull the pistons out and check for taper and out-of-round in your cylinders. If they're stll straight, clean piston grooves, re-ring the pistons and hone the cylinders. see if the rod bearings are good and plasti-gauge them. I'd clean the heads of the pistons off. Why not? They're right there!!
