Default Mig welding Dissimilar metals. Stainless to mild steel

What type of wire do i need to mig weld Stainless Steel Grade 304 to mild steel? Do i need pure argon or can i use Argon/Co2 mix?

use 309L SS wire with tri-mix from most of what i've read. Never had to weld ss to mild yet.

it will cause issues. Dissimilar metals will corrode, due to the electrical pair they create.

People use mild steel flanges on stainless exhausts all the time.

That's exactly what this is for

I'm going to give the 309L a try as soon as i get a chance to work on it.

75%argon 25%CO2 is what you need...

see if you can get flux 309... it will come out lookin nicer..
