Default 1992 Accord AT gushing ATF..

I really need some advice on this one. My 1992 Accord Lx 4 door AT began to puke fluid while in reverse. I parked it immediately and then tried to move it a week later to a shop. While on my way my buddy flashed me to pull over, and that is when he informed me it started to leak a lot of fluid while in drive. I took as much gear out of the way to diagnose the problem. I have found that it is leaking from the passenger side and its coming from under a cover that is directly under the engine mount and behind the inner fender. I can only assume that I will need to pull the tranny out to diagnose the problem. Should I just replace the tranny or is this an easy fix. I am a car enthusiast and my dad has a shop, but we did mostly engine work and suspension, not transmissions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There are gaskets under the covers, and you may be able to remove the cover without taking the trans out of the car.
If the transmission is functioning properly it would probably be better to reseal the leak.

Mine was an o-ring. O-ring number 25 to be specific.

Okay, so now after looking at the exploded diagram it looks much simpler and makes a bit more sense. I was previously told that there were 2 or 3 test ports for pressure on the right side of the transmission that have copper washers that tend to rust and eventually start to leak. I couldn't find them so I assumed they were inside the front cover.
Here's my next question.... Rough idea or guess on the aggravation factor seeing the amount of space (or lack there of) for this cover? If not I will fill yall in later on in the week after we tow it and tear it apart!
I really appreciate you taking the time to offer up some advice.

Cheers all,
