Default Gas Gauge Problem

So basically i've been experiencing problems with the gas gauge. Sometimes when i turn the car on the gas gauge jumps up and down. It doesn't do it all fast and whatnot, but it will slowly go to the halfline, then drop to right above E, then would rise up, then down and then repeats nonshalantly. Anyone have any ideas as to why its doing this? the car hasn't been driven in 3 months until i bought it and started driving it. I never know whether or not i need to put gas or not! Please help me!!!

Thanx.

Replace the gas gauge located onder the rear passenger seat.

i have the same problem. it is either a ground, the fuel level sending unit, or the guage itself. there are two specific grounds in the Helms manual but i don't have it in front me.
