Rear disc swap
Hey guys I just finished doing the rear disc brake swap on my 91 ef off of a 91 ls. After I was done I was reading around about a proportioning valve (sorry i cant spell to save my life), and I'm wondering do I need a different one now that i have 4 wheel disc brakes? thanks also where is the valve located?
No that would be a brake booster
, check out this link it a prop valve and yes you will notice a difference. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1707477

yeah just did the disc swap too on my crx. I was running the stock prop valve and I wasnt having any problems. but i decided to get the right one. No noticable differnce.
All the proportioning valve does is regulate pressure to the rear brakes during heavy braking to stop rear wheel lock up. so its safe to say that for regular street driving, you probably dont really need it. But if you plan on doing track then yes. Either way I would put it on just to be safe. you never know when some idiot will pull out in front of you and you need to slam on the brakes
