Increasing MPG for my 88 CRX
I just bought an 88' CRX for my girlfriend to use as a commuter(she drives about 30 miles to work).
The CRX is completely stock as far as the engine goes. The only aftermarket upgrades it has are some rims and low profile tires.
I was wondering what I can do to increase the MPG of the CRX.
(other then driving efficiently.)
What mods can I make?
What aftermarket items should I install?
Thanks for your help.

CRX's don't come with V-4s; matter of fact, not many cars do.
The engine will have stamp on it, right below the distributor, to the left of the header, that will say something like "D15B2" or "D16A6" that's what we need to know.

Full tune up helps reliability and mpg. Working O2 sensor does too. Proper tire inflation and alignment too.

Coast as much as possible! I got 500 miles out of a tank one time coasting and not using the engine to brake. Thats 47 miles to the gallon!! Shift really close together between gears and don't accelerate fast at all.
I have a 90 crx standard; I am now averaging 46.7 mpg. When I bought the car it came with chrome rims; I went to the junkyard and got a set of stock rims and bought new tires (175, 70, 13 I think). I did a full tune up, did a complete a/c delete, rear wiper delete, washer delete, and remove the stereo. Oh yeah, I completely rebuilt the engine too. Hehe, that's a little drastic, but I drive 104 miles per day so it is worth it.
