Can anyone tell me if a 4 door trunk lid will fit on on 2 door? I purchased some after market tail lights, they were only for 4 door models, obvious difference in tail lights. So are the trunk lids interchangable for the same years?

I thought 2-4 door lights were the same!

I thought the only difference was in the 90-91 to 92-93!

 

Actually after visiting the junk yard if ound out a few things extra, the difference between the 2 and 4 door is the placement of the lock cylinder. On most 2 dr, its at the bottom of the tail light, on most 4 dr, the lock is at the top side of the light. But I found an LX model today, 2 dr with the lock at top, so I got it, but now the lights are too short. So the next thing I discovered, was that some 4 dr models came with shorter trunk tailights. With my model, and others, the taill lights on trunk lid, are all the way to the license plate, on some other models, the light is shorter, and there is extra trunk the shape of the light, that goes the rest of the way to the plate like these here:

Maybe its a specific year difference, from 91 - 93, mine is a 92, so maybe its from a 91 or 93 model, if any one knows for sure, let me know.

the one on the bottom is a 90-91 darker blue
I meant each model has a different molded set of light...thats the difference!

you want to stick to 92-93 car parts ! come on dude its obvious on whats different on the lights!

Side Note: The first piece on both sets can be interchanged but dont do that its funky
plus it doesnt match up right looks like its backwards!

I found it finally. Thanks to a auto body specialist. The year I needed was the 93 4 door trunk lid. If you look back to the pics I posted, on the top one, you'll notice how the trunk lights are shorter, thus needing the extra plastic piece that surrounds the license plate. I kept asking for the same year as mine, 92, but the lights were the same, as they went all the way to the middle. thanks anyway guys, problem solved, ttrunk is on, as well as lights, and spoiler! Next is those damn rust spots on quarters. Once they are fixed, I think I am gonna Rhino coat the wheel wells.
