Default this is a noob ? but id rather be safe than sorry

okay so im changing my oil thiss weekend. Went to Honda bought OEM oil and filter for under 30. called my boy up told him that Honda is sellin Skunk2 products now and he asked what i was doing and what i was buying. well he text me after i had left and said i needed 5 quarts. i bough for and ive never had a problem. so should i buy an extra quart or what?

like i said i know its a noob question and im no noob but id rather be safe than sorry.

Car is a 88 STD hatch. bone stock other than the Si 5spd tranny.

I use 4 quarts and my dipstick tells me I'm actually a little over full so I think 5 would be really pushing it, but I'm pretty noob too so take my advice with a grain of salt.

most people buy 5 and fill up the filter with one... or half of one and the other 4 go in the car.

You can also check your owner's manual for future reference, unless you do not have one... Owners' manuals will give you a good amount of information on maintaining your car.

he probly said you need 5qts. cause hes used to getting the specials at autozone where they sell you the 5 qts. with the filter

i always get the big 5qts. bottle and keep the rest for just in case one day the level goes down

i buy the 5 qt jugs cuz its cheaper sometimes then buying 4... the only kickers is that u need to measure it...

Why would you buy 5...? thats retarded.. also i'd give you $200 if you can put 1 qt into that tiny filter, 1/2qt wont even go into the filter...

But ya long story short... ONLY NEEDS 3 1/2 qts.

haha thank you very much, 3 and a half like i said way in the beginning but they keep adding on like they know wat they are talking about, how the hell can you fit a quart in the filter is right? that may fit 1/16 of a quart.... hehe.
