I need Eclipse help??????
HI I feel stupid asking this but I gotta know!!!
I have a 92 DOHC Eclipse GS(AND A 87 CRX HYBRID). I have a turbo boost gauge in my gauge cluster but no turbo, or turbo stickers. Dude I bought it from says it's sopose to be turbo. I want to know if it's sopose to be a turbo or just a turbo gauge cluster is in my car? Cause I look under hood NO TURBO!!!

was there a BOV ? a MAS sensor after the intake ? where's the intake ? did you see a igniter looking thing called an internal wastegate...

The guy you bought it from probably put a lower mileage than actual gauge cluster for the car from a turbo car. So it probably isn't a turbo model and probably has twice the miles as advertised. Maybe you can get him to give you money back if you threaten to turn him in.
thx but no thx i love that car as a daily driver and it runs great. I do think it is a non turbo eclipes cause i think turbo eclipes are the GS-T and mine is a GS

If you look under the big GS it should say in small letters turbo 16v DOHC....in the engine bay there should be a big heat sheild in front of the engine, take that off and if there isn't a big *** slug there you're out of luck. Let me guess, you didn't do the work on your CRX did you?
Only the GST and GSX Eclipses are turbo, not the RS or GS.
You have a turbo gauge cluster and I am sure the guy rolled back the mileage for you while he was replacing the cluster.

is the intake piping coming out from the left or right when looking from the front of the car? the all-motor 420A and turbo 4G63 are built very very different. i think everything from left to right is almost opposite. 420A GS has intake pipe on right when looking from front of car, and GST/GSX 4G63 has intake pipe coming from left.
if it was a 420A with an aftermarket turbo kit....i would have no idea why he put in the stock GST gauge cluster with boost gauge cuz those aren't even accurate

Its a 93, first gens never came with the 420A. There technically wasn't a 90-94 "GST", it was called the GS-Turbo, but on the car it just said GS, with the small turbo 16v DOHC underneath. The FWD Turbo Eclipse started to be called the GST in showrooms in 95. GO TO DSMTALK.COM, they know what they're talking about, most of these honda guys don't know the ins and outs of DSMs....I do, and could tell in 30 seconds if it was or not but you're not in my area and havent posted any pics....
Here is a engine shot of my hyundai with the 4g63T in it notice the manifold and you can see the turbo by the radiator.
Some of them came with 4G63s....sorry to nitpit though, great job with the turbo conversion. FYI, the last generation Tiburon also had a version of the 4G63 in it, almost as strong too!

No the car isn't from Thailand, I built it last year, the markings on it are 1.8 so noone thinks it's a 2.0 liter.
Thanks for the comments on it. Right now it is toredown being rebuilt so I'll post more when I get the motor back in it.

Hey man I put alot of work in my CRX and i think i deserve the respect i put into it. YES I did all of the work. Only i did get my exhaust done.
I just wanted to say thx to all of you guys helping. My car isn't a turbo it's just the DOHC GS. I like that car as a daily driver, I bought it for 1800.00 and i'm happy with it. I'm into my CRX right now to spend any money on it. It just gets me back and forth to work. Nice and a little fast but not CRX FAST!!!!!!
eh, Jstone2775... I feel generous today. Shoot me the vin and I can check up the engine code w/ the service manual at work. That'll tell you what the chassis (given chassis vin) came w/ from the factory. I can also check out the car's history. Of course this is all assuming the vin is real too. Make sure you get the vin from the car and not the motor. Pm me in case I lose this thread.
