cel on and flashing with the fuse 15 blown...
i got a 96 civic cx and got appor. 136k miles on it... when i was driving it the other day the engine light came on and the speedometer went nuts... and when i give it gas the car runs very rough and shakes when idling... so i took it to the shop and he got the code saying both of the o2 sensor is busted... so i replaced them... the car ran fine for 2 mins but after that i encountered more problems... the engine light flashes, the car idling at 500 rpm... the speedometer is going up and down... the fuse 15 is blown. then i went home and installed my voltage stabilizer and the car work fine except for the engine light is still on when i drive... but it didn't idle at low rpm or the cel light flashes... had anyone encounter a similar problem? and what's the solution?
Your rear O2 sensor wiring is most likely shorted. If you eliminated it, recheck the wiring. There is a TSB out there for wires rubbing on the intake manifold, causing this sort of malfunction. The heater line shorts to ground, popping the fuse instantly once the car is turn to ON (II).
I experienced this when I removed the rear O2 sensor (converted to OBD1) I tucked the plug into the car and the insulation rubbed off, and shorted it out. Took me 3 days of backtracking to find that problem. I also suffered the speedo issue, and the battery light would not come on. (Fuse 15 blew, which is ALT/SP SENSOR) The charging issue is what kept my car from moving. This will drain the battery fast, and the car will begin to misfire, and eventually die.
I had an HO2 code, ELD code, Speedo code.
