whats up everybody, i have an intermittent no start problem. It seems like when it rains the humidity or something creates an no start problem. Once I kept trying to start it for about 5 minutes off n on. come back an hour later n it starts right up. NO CRANK from the starter, battery is good, connections are good, fuel pump primes. never had any problems with the ignition switch.
i'm pretty convinced its the neutral saftey switch due to the starter doing nothing. Ive already ordered one, but never changed one. The car is STOCK besides the clutch n flywheel. I did a search and couldn't find anything.
HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM, OR CHANGED A NSS?
ANY TIPS OR TRICKS?
DOES THIS SOUND LIKE THE RIGHT DIAGNOSIS?

Could it also be the main relay? I know a couple people that had similar problems and the main relay fixed. Just a suggestion.
I requested a short story for a title.

I dont know if it fixed it yet, (because the problem is intermittent) but i did some things already.
I was going to go ahead and replace the NSS had the part ready to go and unplugged it to see if the same problem happened. the car started right up. I was thinking WTF, did some one jump it some where? Well I figured out that i was attempting to change the wrong one, lol. There is an indentical looking switch but its to signal the computer the clutch pedal is out. So i found the NSS about a foot higher, ( its really buried). While I was looking i found a f@ckn mess of wiring.
I ended up removing an poorly installed alarm ( Scorpian) which i have never heard of. They had changes from 12 gauge wire to 18 gauge, on the ignition switch wire. It looked like it had been getting pretty hot cause the coating on the wire was chipping off and it was discolored from heat. When i was done it still started right up.
If this didnt fix the problem, where is the main relay located, in the passenger compartment, or under the hood near the fuse box? I have read a little about it.
