I just bought back my 91 Honda CRX Si. Its Black on Black and has 259,000 miles. Doesn't look like it has that kind of mileage. No Rust or body work has been done to this at all. Has the Stock D16A6 motor. Skunk 2 Coil Overs on Tokico Blue shocks. Front drilled rotors. Painted Red calipers.
17" ADR Sukodo gunmetal wheels.
Grant steering wheel.
Aftermarket shift ****.
Black Housing Halo headlights that don't even work.
The whole interior is there and clean. Paint is in good shape with clear coat coming off on hood and sunroof only.
I sold this car to a friend of mine back in April of 2007. I was the third owner with the second owner having it for 3 months only. My friend drove the car for 2,000 miles within the past year and couple months. He bought a Mustang is the reason.
Anyways the car sat there for some time just building up dust. He did not take very good care of the car and therefore needs a lot of work. So I need your help to figure out some problems on the car. Here is what I have done so far:
Took the alarm out since he lost the keypad.
Striped the interior and cleaned everything.
Cleaned the engine bay.
Replaced the Headlights with stock ones.
Switch out the steering wheel with a stock one.
Took off the shift ****.
Changed spark plugs.
I'm needing to get another radiator for the car as he put a '90 Acura Integra radiator in it to fix the leak it had. I'm going to go to the dealership for this part.
I need hep with the sunroof as its not working at the time but did at one point.
I'm trying to get the kinks worked out with the engine.
Help me out H-T. Need to get this thing running correctly.

Great sugestion. The one coming off the battery was in the wrong location. It was connected under the battery tray not the chassis. Will give you update when I put it back to original spot.

Yes I do need new plug wires. Need a new Radiator as well. He had one in from a DA Integra. The hood won't shut. I will be putting in a big order with Honda here really soon.

Thanks to _Keith_ For the suggestion of checking the ground cables. The battery ground cable and the Engine ground cable both needed to be hooked up. Now the engine starts with no hesitation.
Now the Tach is not showing any RPM and I don't think the gas gage is working. How do you Diagnose the Tach?

How do I fix my sunroof?
It opens just fine but does not close. You can hear it trying though. I jump the relay and it shut. So I replaced it and now nothing. Doesn't open or shut.
How do I fix this problem or diagnose it better?

For bringing her back to 100% stock. Unmolested CRX's are an endangered species.
The cable and rails need to be lubed, you can do it the easy-ghetto way like I did, Or the way the Helms tells you. And perhaps your sunroof switch need de-oxing.

It doesn't need any lube as it opens and shuts just fine. Its more in the wiring, switch or relay.

I forgot to tell you this while I was at your house, sorry lol....but.....
Take off your distributor, remove the cap, and check the 3 or maybe it's 4...wires that are hooked up next to one another, remove each one, inspect the connectors to ensure they are clean, if they came off easy then grab some pliers and kinda squeeze each one so they have a tighter fit on the prong, then put them back on.
I've had a very similar situation to what you were describing TWICE and both times I fixed it by ensuring a good connection on the wires inside the dizzy cap. It takes 5 minutes and fixed it each time.

I will do that anyways just because it sounds like a great idea to do. I fixed the problem though by buying one spark plug till my others come in. I runs like a champ now and does not studder.
I toke it for a drive and when I slow down you can hear what sounds like compression really defined in the engine. Is it suppost to do that or is the engine just getting really high miles and now its showing? Any way tofix besides a rebuild?

I thought that the fuse only controls the light in the instrument panel? I'm going down today to get some fuses because there are only a couple in the box. But figured it was not link directly to that.
I guess after I replace them all I'll give you an update.

yeah check the fuses.
It could be the switch. And I have a switch for you if you think it is that.
Can you still move the sunroof manually with a wrench?
The clutch on the sunroof motor could be out of adjustment too. just close the sunroof, and tighten that nut on the motor.
