Default question for aem v2 intake owners.

So i've always wanted an intake but always hated the fact that they usually friggin' kill your low end power and can often reduce your midrange too. but looking at the dyno graph on the AEM v2 this seems to not be the case, though they start their dyno above 2500rpm

Any AEM v2 owners here? does it give you more of an overall power boost rather than a crazy high end and crappy low end?

really honestly speaking i have owned the expensive intake that aem makes and there all the same i found some pipe at home depot and made some custom **** painted it etc. i noticed a definite power increase from switching i would never spend 200 something on a aem intake..a pipe with a filter is all thats needed

I had a AEMV2 on my gsr..... I couldn't really tell the difference between the V2 and my old SRI that was a no name brand...... The only significant difference was that the V2 was loud as hell

wow.. loud as hell compared to an SRI? that's pretty crazy. CAI's are usually quieter and i thought the AEM V2 was more on the moderate side.

maybe i'll just take out my baffle box and plug up the side hole.. if it's like my civic ex.. do these bad boys have baffle/snorkle/whatever boxes?

Don't own the V2, but as I recall from the countless intake threads, it's not going to make much of a difference to begin with. Unless of course you make other corresponding changes.

I am looking to increase my mpg for long trips plus i know that the plastic intake boxes are pretty heavy to begin with.. not so much performance.

only thing i've really hated about CAI's in the past is the low end power dropoff.
