I've been looking through all sorts of forums, websites, google, wikipedia.. name it, I've tried it, and I can't seem to find diagrams or specs regarding this information. There are just like a trillion threads in all of the forums that I've checked combined, and I don't think it's possible for me to take the time to go through every single posting. I currently own an 07 FA5 and buddy of mine owns an 06 Type-S.

With that said,

Does anyone know the difference between these two exhaust systems? From having seen them both with my own eyes, it's obvious that the stock piping on the Type-S is bigger than the piping on the Si. Also, I've noticed that inside the piping of the stock Si, there are two smaller pipes throughout the entire thing (restriction purposes). I was wondering if it was the same for the Type-S? (idk because I haven't seen it). If anyone could shed some insight on this or link me to something online about these two exhaust systems, your help will be greatly appreciated. there is not extra piping running through the entire exhaust system. what were you looking at?

 

well, it's difficult to explain. But, when i removed my car's CAT, I looked inside the piping and there are two oval-pipe-like linings inside the piping of my stock CAT as well as the tip of my mid pipe. If I could draw a picture on here, I would.

 

i believe the stock cat has a heat sheild around it.
