i remember posting awhile back about this and some people said it was plug and play. BUt today i got a cluster off a Crx Si and installed it on my 88 civic but it didnt work i guess there are like one more Cable missing. So from what Year can i use a cluster???
if you dont want to hack up your cluster wiring then it has to be from a 88 or 89. you can use the cluster you have but you need to get 90-91 cluster plugs i believe, and switch some wires around. If the stock plugs you have now though fit in the cluster fine and make contact as they should maybe they could be used but i'm not sure on that. this will help though. it shows the difference between the wiring on the 90-91 plugs and the wiring on the 88-89 plugs.

i had a cluster off a Si and i installed it on my car but i needed an extra plug and the cluster was all messed up. and RPM wouldnt work so i took it off. So does the 88-89 just have to plugs ??? or 3 like the one i had
you have to match 88-89 and 90-91 in order for it to work with no issues, as someone said.
I have done the 91 dx -> si cluster swap, and there was no wiring needed.

I did but took it off because the cluster was going all crazy, and as some people said it would just plug in with out any mods. When i turned on my Head lights the TEMP & Gas niddle would go all the way to the top....lol
