Default Integra back up fuse problem

My back up fuse for my 99 integra keeps blowing, knocking out the clock, stereo, and ecu back up memory.

Everytime I come back to my car, the fuse is blown, especially on a hot day. So it seems that it is blowing whenever I am not in the car.

I have tried leaving the stereo disconnected and looking for any shorts in the wiring and it seems good. Could it be my ECU? I have some DINAN ECU which is kind of weird.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, TIA

maybe you should try getting a stock ECu and then run it for a day and see what happens?

I could but that ECU has the tune for the set up I have, thus putting in a stock ECU not a good idea. Any other possibilities?

Another thing is that the fuse especially blows when the car is or has been in the sun

Could be anything. Have you chased the wires with a multimeter? Otherwise you'll just get people giving you shots in the dark with no real answer. With my Caprice, I had 2 ECUs for it. One was an Autozone reman that my dad swapped for me like 5 years ago, and the other was from Ebay. I had switched ECUs because I thought the reman he swapped with my old one wasn't compatible with my Caprice (I had a 9c1 ex sheriff caprice with a 350 instead of a 305). I put the oem ebay ECU in and the car is running fine. One day i'm coming home from work and it just shuts off on me going 45. I was right at my house. From then on it would turn on then turn off. Finally I checked the fuses and found out that my fuel pump fuse was blowing every single time. I swapped ECUs again and ran it like I stole it and not one fuse blown till this day. Basically it can be anything. I thought it was a fuel pump error, but it was actually the ECU...

yeah, thanks for the insight. I think I'll buy a multimeter soon. I have suspicion that it may be related to my ECU. Then again, I pulled the fuse box out today and the harness looked really nasty, like a bunch of white gel acid substance, don't know what it's called.

Anyway, what's the best way to clean that type of stuff off plug harnesses? haha

CRC makes an aerosol spray for that... this has happened to me a few times, once in my da, and like 12 times in my dc. The da was due to a water leak, the dc was due to a bad ground.

thanks for the info.. got some crc electronic cleaner and cleaned it out... but the problem is still there

anyway, where exactly are the grounds for something that is related to the backup fuse (clock, ecu memory, radio)? so far it isn't the clock, ecu, nor the radio because I individually disconnected each and the fuse still blew. any more suggestions will be appreciated, thanks

ok so I finally fixed it, that was one bitchin headache. there was a short somewhere deep behind the dash, where it was unreachable so I almost pulled the dash out just for that but ended up rewiring to avoid such labor.

I can say I am pretty happy this is finally fixed since I have spent days trying to figure it out
