91 CRX SI brakes vs 91 Civic EX brakes
I've putting my 91 crx si back together getting ready to hit the street again soon (wrecked like 6 months ago) and started thinking about my brakes. Currently my brakes are all stock (discs F/R) and are no match for my Azenis RT-516 so there is alot of room to grow. It will see alot of aggressive driving but it will probably not see much track action. I already have a EX 15/16 mc (slightly bigger then my 7/8) and was thinking about swapping my stock front caliper (16cl13vn) with the ex calipers (17cl14vn) and rotors. I guess my main questions is will the ex calipers, mounting bracket and rotors bolt up on my knuckle's? and what proportion valve should I use? 40/40 or stock 35/40?
I guess I could do this too:

Accord/ITR/Prelude 17CL15VN calipers, 25T mounting brackets, EX rotors and a lot more stopping power

just my opinion perhaps, but you dont need the extra stopping power from larger rotors.
just focus on maintaining your brake system and getting the right pads.

That's what I was going to do in the first place, just upgrade to the slightly big mc from the ex, put some good pads on there and some brembo blanks. I still might just go this route.

HP+ pads on your stock brakes will be much more than enough to slow you roll. They are actually overkill for street use, mine lock up quite easily.

I went with DA brakes on my old CRX and it was ok, but the lock ups were a pain in the *** sometimes.
Went back to OEM CRX Si brakes, Hawk Pads, Brembo Blanks, Russel SS Brake lines. I shoulda done this setup to begin with.
No problems now, and i have excellent stopping power. Yes, even with the OEM cylinder, booster and prop valve

Fronts.
Twice I had to hit the brakes pretty hard and they'd lock up. Whether it was a problem with the calipers or the pads...I dunno. All I know is that I came here to ask for advice on brakes a long time ago pads and blanks were the resounding answer. So I went with the OE setup and upgraded the pads, rotors and lines. I swear sometimes the simplest solution is usually the best one. And that was with a B16 too. I was under the assumption that I needed MAD stopping powazz for the vtak
