Default GSR compression results wrong or right?

I did a compression test on my usdm b18c1 today and the numbers were 210 for all four cylinders. Does this sound right? I'm concerned because a friend of mine did a compression check on his jdm gsr motor and the results were also 210 for all cylinders. Certainly this is possible, and the fact that his motor is a jdm motor isn't the reason I am a little leary of the results, if you are thinking that. It's mainly because I was expecting lower numbers, because I do burn a little oil. And I found it odd that on 8 cylinders total the numbers ALL came out to be 210 (I think one of mine might have been a hair above 210).

Is there something that we could have done wrong that caused the gauge to read 210 every time? Had the fuel pump fuse pulled and I was at WOT. The same person did the check on both cars. Basically is there any reason that these readings could be reading 210 every time or should I assume that they are probably right, or close to right?

That is pretty close to what it should be, and you have to remember that just cause it burns oil dosent mean that the compression is low. the oil ring could be bad and the compression rings could be fine and then again it could be your valve seals too. but somepeople say that 3 compression strokes and thats your numbers but others say turn over untill gauge stops which I have found that this method produces a much more consistent reading so I would go that route.

What I'm saying though, is that isn't it a little odd that every single time we got exactly 210, on both motors? No 200, 195, etc, no variation at all. I know that's a good thing but is there any way we could have been doing something wrong to produce those numbers? This is the first time I've done a compression check so I just want to make sure there isn't something odd about what I came up with. Btw my motor has 96k on it.

yes it is weird but if you really want to prove to yourself that there isnt anything wrong with the gauge and that you are doing it right try it on a diffrent motor like a sohc or something that you know has diffrent compression numbers.

your numbers are good....i wouldnt worry about it...what matters the most if they are consistant with one another and or are within 20% of each other...but if its 210 across be happy...its good numbers
