Dumping Oil
The other night I started my engine for the first time ready to break it in.
It wouldnt hold an idle and died. We started it up again and the oil light came on and we killed it.
I checked the oil and the dipstick was dry. I let the engine cool down a little and checked it again and it barely touched the stick.
I looked around and it seemed 2 be isolated in 2 places. Right where the alternator is and right where the main waterneck is.
I looked around and didnt see anything obvious so I called my Honda guy in for inspection.
I was told that the person who built my engine put the HG on wrong. The little tab that sticks out he put on the wrong side.
While it seems this is a fact, would this cause an engine to lose 4 quarts of oil in like 20 seconds?
I would think it would cause it to lose some oil, but the stick was dry pretty much. 4 qts of new oil on the driveway and all over the back of our new block.
Before I go tear my builder a new one...I need to have all the facts.
