Default honda cbr600rrf4

Im a pretty short guy, so I went to the dealership to sit on some bikes to see if I fit on a few of them. The one that seemed to fit me best that I really fell in love with was a cbr600rr F4. The problem is that the guy was askin way too much for it (at least way more than i have.) What would be the best place to pick one of these bikes up at.

I didn't know they made such a thing. It was either an RR, F4, or F4i most likely.

What's your budget? I'm assuming this is your first bike?

If you're looking to spend <3000, I would look at a Honda CBR600F3. The seat height is even lower than the F4/i IIRC.

Don't forget to budget for gear as well. Plan on spending at least $600-800 on a helmet, jacket, gloves, and boots. http://www.newenough.com has some great deals to keep the costs down.

Other good bikes in your price range are Ninja 250, Ninja 500, FZR600, CBR600F2

And lastly, read the thread "To all beginners/newbies asking about getting a new bike" thread at the top of this form

Good advice. I spent $1100 in gear when I got my bike. Don't forget some decent pants. At the very least get motorcycle jeans.

lol it's either a 600F4i or 600RR, although similar one has more potential over the other. If you went to a new bike dealership then it's probably the 600RR since the F series has been out of production. If it was a used dealership I'm guessing you meant F4 which would be imo a good starter bike. It's pretty short compared to most other sports. What year and how much was he asking?

Yeah it was an F4 in the used section of the dealership. I dont remember the year, but he wanted $5,000 for it, which is a little out of my price range.

That's waaay too much for F4 anyways, even from a dealer.

Go private party, and look at something cheaper for your first bike

Look at SV650s too. I've seen 2005s on craigslist for 3500 with a salvage title. The bikes may have been down, but they still look mint. Hell, my 2006 with a clean title is only worth about 4500.

IMO the SV650 or SV650s is a great first bike, and they are damn cheap too.\

I've never been on a F4i though.

My friend actually went from an F4i to a SV650s because it was "more comfortable"
