Default my ef took a crap on me...

wat a bad day/nite...First off i wanted to change my axles for my car.. i called up kragen and they said they had so i went there and what do u know they dont have it..nothing new...so i place one on order so i can pick up for free with my lifetime warranty.so i go over to my cousins and chilled there for a bit and what do u know my phone's battery decides to crap on me... so now its about 12 AM and i decide to go home...on my way home what do u know my car decides to crap on me tooo!!! [freak]!!! now my car is dead and my cell is dead.. so i walk to seven eleven in hope of using there phone but what do u know they say they dont have one ****!!.. then i asked a guy who has to use his cell phone and what do u know he has a gay *** metro that doesnt even [freak]ing work !! so i decide to run over to my cousins which was roughly a quarter mile away and luckily he wasnt asleep.. so i used his phone and called the tow truck... now i just got home via tow truck and trying to figure out wat is wrong..

Now heres the problem.. the car is an 88 civic hacth with a b20 swap.. car ran fine prior to today but when i was at a stop light this early morning the car just dies.. at first the car would crank and sounded like it would start but of course it didnt..then after a few cranks the car completely doesnt want to crank nemore.. the fuel pump is priming but the car does not crank at all.. what can be the problem? there is no CEL.. could it be the battery? dizzy? starter? alternator? nething else yall can think of would be nice...

I would resolder the contact points on your main relay.

If the main relay was dead the fuel pump wouldn't prime at all.

Did you notice your headlights dimming or interior lights doing the same? Did the car do anything funny prior to stopping at the light?

I'd try jumping it if you haven't already.

From there, I'd check for fuel and spark.

Check your ground and all battery cable connections. Have the battery tested and then the alternator if everything else is ok. Thats where I'd start.

it was the battery.. jumped it and everything is fine...but i have another question doesnt the car run on the alternator after the car has been started? so does this mean that my alternator is not working properly?

yes the car runs on the alternator after you start it the battery is only to start the car the alternator powers up the car if your alternator doesnt work heres a easy way to check

turn the car on then disconnect the battery if it shuts off your alternator dont work

if it stays on its fine

thats retarded. put a multimeter on the battery when the cars running. if its somewhere around 14.0 then the alt's working fine. if you start getting into low 13's or 12 somethin, then you have an issue with your charging system.

Both methods work, but I suggest the multimeter. It'll give you a better idea of what's actually going on, rather than just a thumbs up or thumbs down.
