yup.... i was just drivin the heard a nosie... then i seen that the pulley is loose.. got the car towed to my house.....
the little key is broken....

well my question is i already got a new pulley and a new key but if i replace this. woould the motor still run??? is a stock ls with a build gsr head...

it should still run as long as the pulley didnt come off and send a piston through your head or something retarded like that. just replace it and torque it to spec and make sure your timing is perfect.

 

if you do not have a torque wrench, USE LOCTITE. better being safe than sorry, and you wont overtorque anything this way and it will be securely in. It will be kinda pita when you take off the crank to change a timing belt or something though. But its better than the crank falling off while your driving and popping a tire.

If your timing belt didn't come off then your completely fine and it'll run the same.
