Default tire selection

Anybody got any advice on a good tire that I can use for daily driving that can hold up well on the track too?

There's a whole series of tires that are designed to do exactly what you describe. Here are the very best, that are available in sizes for most of our cars:

Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec (Tire Rack)
Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R (Tire Rack)
Falken Azenis RT-615 (Vulcan Tire)
Toyo R1R (onlinetires.com)

Kumho will be introducing their Ecsta XS next month, too.

Note that these don't last all that long for daily driving; for example, you might get 10-12K miles out of a set of the Azenis. And they're not always all that great in rain, either, especially when the tread wears down. That's why many people get an extra set of wheels, so they can use these supersticky tires for the track, and a set of other, longer-lasting tires for daily driving. (Needless to say, none of these should be used in snow, either.)

The sad thing is you dont even need to search, there are like 3-5 threads all about sticky street tires on the first page.
