Any inputs appreciated. The "Tech" forums slow... and I know that all the Type-R owners are **** about any blemish on their car... so they may have some insight on this

for the plastic parts located in the trunk, after moving to a new house, i had a bunch of scratches, my friend actually took his lighter out, and five minutes later, POOF, no more scratches, im not quite sure how he did it, but hes pretty good, at what he did, looks just like new, ill ask him what he did! i wouldnt try it tho, id probably melt it
I don't have an R but in all my cars I found the Dremel with a FINE rotary sanding bit works good with really light pressure. Then I've always used Meguiars scratch polish and finished it with a little Armor-All to even out the "shine" on the whole panel. Which ultimately has led me to then start armor-alling the rest of the interior plastic cause the shine wasnt even haha. I'm ****. But if you don't have a Dremel then you can get one of those fingernail boards girls use and try that lightly, then proceed with the Meguiars etc. I've had alot of scratches, ex used to wear big rings and talked ALOT with her damn hands. Scratches all over the door panels. Let me know if this helps, if not I think my dad knows another way.

I work at the honda plant, to remove scratchs from MDX's and Pilots..we use grease from the hood latch..put a bit on the scratch and we use the round end part of a small screw driver to smooth it out, fill in cracks..should work...a little heat helps to
yeah thats what my dad said when I asked him, but he said to be careful with the heat...he uses his lighter and he says unless your really careful you can get melting or at the least lose some of the texture.

This is a really interesting question.
My trunk is all scratched up from my golf clubs and baseball crap slding around all the time. I would love to find a way to get rid of that. I'll try the lighter and grease thing but I'd like to get some more feedback

Grease and lighter works best for deeper scratches, sort of serves as a compound filler. It does eventually wear off, the heat helps to keep it a little longer. But its a cheaper alternative to buying new panels. If the scratches are lighter a Dremel tool with a a fine rotary bit works if you use it very lightly then usually after a little plastic polish you can't really tell the scratch was there anymore.
