Turbo? Supercharger? All Motor?
Ok so everybody has their own opinions about whats the best setup and why. wells nows ur chance to voice those opinions. Tell us what your preference is and why. We all know this can be a heated debate just like the one between sohc and dohc guys. I myself am a sohc guy. Maybe this thread will help me decide which setup to go with if somebody gives good enough reasonsl. Keep it goin guys!
If you are a sohc guy and you want a good amount of power, then you pretty much are limited to a turbo set-up.

i want whats gonna give me the most power for my money. im planing on building the head and bottom end. i know jackson racing makes a good super charger for the d series motors, i was interested in that bc i wouldnt have to worry about turbo lag and it seem like alot less work. plus its different. everybody has turbo. but i want whats best for my motor. Maybe turbo would be the best bang for my buck.

I didnt say i was going to do what they tell me i just want to know what other ppl have done and tried and what works best bc i havent done this before. this is my first real project on a honda and im just asking what results have been. i am doing what i want not just what ppl say. im not sayin that i dont appreciate you tellin me to do my own thing but dont assume i made this thread bc i want other ppl to tell me what to do. thanks

Ok but theres nothing wrong with asking people for advice on what works and what dont. I didnt even do this thread for my own benefit i just did it as a poll to see what got the most votes. If you read the top again you mite understand it better.

to answer the o.p, even though I am with ***$nyper on this one.... I am building a bootom end, head, and si trans for a turbo d16a6.
Why? no shift linkage changes, no motor mount changes (though i am doing stock replacement) and no vtec. I am not against vtec, I just want to use a cheap ecu (pm6) and have one less element for me to trouble shoot and tune if/when there is a problem.This is my first build, and if i screw up, I am not out an imported motor, and if i blow it up, I will have a whole stock motor and ecu waiting to go back in so i dont lose my car for more than a few days to swap back.

ok for the last time im not asking for help or ideas i already have a swap in my car and i did it on my own it dont take a genius to figure it out. i mite not know everything about it yet but im not a complete idiot when it comes to mechanics. ive been around it my whole life. sorry if i dont meet ur high standards of practice but you have to learn sum how and hands on is the best way. everybody makes mistakes along the way thats how you get better you learn from them. but i forgot yall have never done that before rite.
maybe bc i was curious what would be more popular among the ppl. does anybody understand what i mean? bc apparently the guy that thinks he knows everything just cant seem to. im glad that sum ppl think they can speak for everybody else.

Dude.....get a good suspension and get good at driving it before you worry about more power. Its a good start, but you have a long road ahead of you.

personally, I would go turbo. Im going to use a nitrous setup before I boost it.

i'm not goin to **** on your thread i just think those guy wanted more specifics..... example:I have a d16a6 and i use the car as a dd........etc .I agree with what they say though whatever you like do. too many people on here "follow the leader" just my 2 cents gl
