Help Please
Hi, I'm new to this site and any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a 95 Honda Civic EX with a manual transmission, and lately my car's been acting up. Once I hit third gear I hear that my engine is revving higher than normal. This even occurs while I'm coasting in neutral. I took my car to a mechanic and he told me that I needed a new clutch. So, after changing my clutch yesterday, it still revs high. I brought my car back to him today and he told me to drive it around for a couple of days and if the problem persists to bring it back then.
Does anyone know what the heck it could be? Do I need a new transmission?

No, I go regularly from 1st to 2nd to 3rd ... But when I reach 3rd gear, I hear that my engine is revving high. Because my engine's revving so high, I tried sticking my car in neutral but the engine still revs and my rpm flickers above the 1.
