Recommend an "oval" mufflered exhaust...
for a 96 hatch. By oval I mean a muffler that doesnt look like the N1 style. I dont want it loud or expensive if thats even possible

well going by what someone else pad in a different thread the vibrant was more money although he did buy a cat also but cats are overated

I had to buy a cat for emissions purposes and I just wanted to be on the safe side. The ultra silent resonator I chose also cost me more. So you'll save some money there already.
