Kissing the mirror...
I know that most of you know about getting low over the tank and putting weight foreword... but in many pictures I see from some of you, your thrusting the inner should foreword as far as possible in an effort to over get over the front... That thrust is not a good thing, you should attempt to keep shoulders fairly square to the machine to maintain range of motion and to centralize your mass.
Case in point:

I've been trying to do this lately, but of course in a naked the riding position is a lot different. Still nice shots that really help explain the technique
yeah, don't do what this guy does...
edit: ok i fail at posting pics from my phone
but on the brighter side you don't have to waste your time looking at graphiteaccord again ...

So much hate for him. I always thought he was hilarious, but I never took him too seriously (which is why I assume you all didn't get him)
Is that really him in the picture? lol.

the knee is just a feeler. no need to make an effort to get your knee on the ground

like they were saying, don't worry about dragging knee-when you get fast enough, it'll just happen one day.
however, as far as nuts-on-tank vs. butts-on-cowl, it really depends on the bike, the rider, and what you're comfortable with. what's important is being able to hook your outside leg on the tank to support your body, being able to quickly transition from one side to the other (say in a technical complex of turns), and making sure your *** position doesn't undermine the rest of your body position. some people like nuts on tank because it makes it easier to pivot around the gas tank and use their legs. some people like *** back because it's easier to toss the bike around.
it may not be scientific, but on the gsxr, i ride nuts-on-tank. on the 675 i rode with my *** further back. i think the only reason for the difference was ergonomics

yea, i'm not in a hurry to drag knee, i'm just trying to get the basics on good body position,
cuz i feel more comfy with nutz on the tank, but from the pix above it looks like there is a lot of space between the tank and their nutz just wondering if my form was all wrong.. so it's easier to flick the bike around if you're away from the tank?

I get better leverage on the pegs with my butt towards the rear.
have any pix of you riding?

For me on my gix, I've felt most comfortable taking the corners on "nuts against tank", but for the last 2 weeks, I've been sitting back more and I noticed that the turns are easier to take and I feel more stable.
I haven't looked too much into it, but rumor has it that the 06+ GSXR has a lot of weight put into the front end so I'm assuming that if I put my weight more towards the rear, it'll distribute the weight more evenly..
Anyway, having space between the nutz0Rz and the tank work better FOR ME, than nutz0rs against the tank.
