I guess you could refer to this as a project thread...
But more or less it's just a place for me to post pictures of my car as I move along.
History...
Since before I got my drivers license I've wanted to modify cars. I started with 4WDs and rock crawlers. Mainly Samurais but I eventually built a pretty hefty Jeep Cherokee that I mobbed around in until a good friend of mine invested in a 91 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 16v, and that's when it started. Not only did I firmly take hold in the sport-compact scene but I developed a fondness for VW's. Between the age of 17 and 23 I owned more than 10 Volkswagens. Everything from Jettas to Rabbits. Also in that five years I bought a house, got married, had a kid, and eventually grew up a little. After some soul searching and some garage cleaning I decided that I had come to an important point in my life. I was tired of VWs. Tired of specialty tools, expensive maintenance, and jokes like cruise control. So I decided to trade All the VW stuff I had minus a few treasures to a friend for an air compressor. Shortly after doing that the mrs. and I were looking for a second car as I had previously sold my daily driver ('97 Jetta GLX) and the Vespa isn't that safest way to transport my daughter. Scanning the Utah craigslist for Accord wagons I came across a '91 Civic Si. Pictures didn't look bad but I didn't really have any cash so I just over looked it. Then as fate would have it, a diesel pickup backed over my Vespa and totaled it, BAM I had money. So I called the poster of the add to get further details on the car, what was done with it, whether or not it ran well, so on and so forth. Needless to say when he told me what was done with it and the extra parts he was throwing in with the sale I was sold. The next day I got on a bus and headed to Provo, Ut.
So now here I am, the proud owner of a '91 Civic Si. I've had it for less than a month and it's already seen 600 miles and 3 days worth of auto-x competition on pretty much the same setup I brought it home on.
Here's some pics...
The day I brought her home.

And the parts that were stuffed in the hatch.

How she sits now.

Action Shot.

Plans...
A friend and I have decided that after a few years of Solo 2 racing we're ready to move on to time-attack and then eventually wheel to wheel racing. Hopefully this winter it will be losing a lot of weight and gaining a lot of power and suspension.
So anyways, thanks for looking. I have a some stuff waiting in the wings already for it so I'll update as I add new toys.

Trust me, I know.
The ZC isn't too terrible but the suspension is.
I've been looking at k-sports but I'll take a glance at the PICs.
Like I said though, it's not really going to be built for auto-x. Primarily it will be a track ****. The only auto-x it will see next year is just to test things and keep the dust off of it.

Picked up a set of Kosei k1r wheels last night with Hankook Ventus Z212 tires. Will stick much better then my old Advans.
Also got my a-pillar gauge pod in the mail and should be getting some new gauges from STRI tomorrow.

Yay for yoparts.

A word of advice, with the auto-meter a-pillar, leave it in the sun or in a hot car for a few hours before you try pressing the gauge in.
