Default Replacement Clutch (non OEM or Performance)

Hey guys, i found a honda winter car that i'm gonna be buyin in a few days and the clutch is still the original one and its slipping alittle. I'm a OEM parts only kinda guy as far as maintance and tune up purposes. But I was thinking of maybe goin with a Pep boys, napa or car quest clutch kit for this car. I have never used a clutch kit from any of these places nor do i know anyone who did. So my question is has anyone used clutch kit from any of these places and if so how has it held up????

And no I will not be modifying this car now or the future its strickly daily granny style driving so i don't need a performance clutch kit

Default Re: Replacement Clutch (hondadriver)

i replaced my first clutch with a ACT street performance clutch. the pressure plate was stiffer and the disc was supposed to be a bit grippier. honestly, it was worthless. it just made my clutch pedal stiffer and thus harder. of course i got used to it. but i was reminded everytime i drove a friends car how stiff mine was, and how much extra effort i had to put in it.

i replaced my clutch on my other crx just recently with exedy OEM replacement. thats all I need!

as you put it, its strictly daily granny style driving. so just get a OEM replacement. i recommend EXEDY. OEM supplier. great price and service at clutchcityonline.com i highly recommend it.

if you were drag racing, high rpm launches or wahtever, then get a higher performance clutch. but for daily its a waste and an annoyance.
