1990 Accord Interior fan and power door lock connection??
Can find nothing on google searches, so I turn to you all
I'm having work done on my otherwise dependable 90 accord so I can hand it over to my son. Two of the items were power door locks that wouldn't work and the interior fan was also inop.
The weirdness? They seem to be connected somehow, although they are supposed to be on different circuits.
The guy working on it said in trying to restore power to the fan, the same 'repair' (he doesn't remember exactly what he did) also restored power to the door locks!!
Well, whatever it was didn't last and the locks and fan stopped working within a couple days.
Investigating a possible short led to another tech pulling the fusebox...no repairs made or problems found it was re-installed...and the door locks and fan started to work again!
A couple days later the door locks stopped working again but the fan still worked.
Three days later --- the fan just quit working and the power locks have simultaneously decided to work again!
This is beyond coincidence but I can't see where the two would be connected?! Help me guys before I start throwing parts at this...thanks!!
PS- And hours after the locks magically started to work...they have quit, leaving me with no working fan or locks.

Under the door panel of the drivers door there is a control box for the power locks.
You can unplug and remove it, then the circuit board will slide out the bottom and then you will find a bad solder joint that needs to be resoldered.
For the interior blower fan, try to "Thump" it [under the glove box] to see if it runs a little bit.
If this works it means the brushes of the blower motor are worn out and the unit needs replaced.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I'm happy to say, the 'thump' test worked and I feel much better about the new blower motor I picked up...I began to have doubts as to whether I was just dealing with a short/loose connection instead so I didn't just want to throw an expensive part at it and hope for the best.
I'll check the door lock control unit tomorrow...I'd been advised that I could try to replace it but the tech couldn't promise that it was the cause of my problem.
Its just really odd that these things seem to be failing/working at about the same time but I guess that's why they call it 'coincidence'.
One last question: Back when the fan first quit working I replaced the regulator as that seemed to be a common cause (and was waaaay cheaper than the motor itself). It restored the fan for about 3 days and then it was back to not working. Should I replace the regulator again as well?
