Default Noob Suspension question

I have a 99 Sedan with 175K or so on it. It's been a family car and my daily driver and now I think it's time to replace the stock suspension. People have commented that my driver's side is really low and I hear I squeak going over speedbumps in the front.

So I guess I need to buy a set of coilovers allaround. Any suggestions on what I should look for. I don't track the car or do any type of aggressive driving (maybe spirited, but never hard) so I really don't need adjustability or stiffness settings. All I'm looking for is a comprable set of coil-overs that will last me a long time and will keep me at stock height (maybe even 1/2 inch lower would be fine ).

Update* I found someone selling stock coilovers for 130.00 from his 2000 Civic Si w/ 65K on it. Are these the exact same ones on mine and would it be a good upgrade?

Here's a picture of my car for reference .

skip on buying someones used shocks. you probably needed new shocks long before 175k miles.

the car is simply old. there are parts like the shocks and bushings that wear out. you need new shocks. there are some bushings that need to be replaced that i believe are causing the uneven ride height. however, uneven ride height is simply normal. it shouldnt be a big deal or something to get **** over. really.

i recommend just buying new shocks, and thats it. i know you just said you dont care for adjustability and whatnot. but i cant recommend anything less than tokico illuminas. i use them with my stock springs too and find them great. shocks are the 2nd best improvement for handling i believe. (first being tires). and the fact that they are adjustable is simply gravy compared to the great quality and performance you get from them.

now if you really want to get lowering springs. i recommend eibach prokits. they just go a bit lower and it does firm up the ride. just perfect for street fun in my opinion.

more about bushings. be sure to follow the factory service manuals instructions and tighten your bushings at a loaded position with a jack underneath the suspension holding it up with the car on jack stands. this will help save the remainder of the bushings life.

Wow! Thanks for the reply. Ya. I had a feeling used coil overs were a bad idea. Are my stock springs still good for use (that's the impression I got from your reply)?

yeah, i dont think the springs are what is causing the difference in ride height. you could always flip them when installing the shocks to see for shiggles.

so in short, it just seems to me you just need new shocks. you already have my recommendation. ebay has the best prices, contact the vendor directly would be even better.
