Default fixed my broken rt4wd civic wagon tranny

I had 2 4wd trannies 1 was blown and the other had a broken bell housing from an accident the car it was in got into. so i cut out the part of the blown tranny and welded it into the good tranny.

cut out the part i needed and robbed the tranfer case and shifter

shaved the piece till it fit bolted the piece and tranny to a spare motor as a jig and welded it together and WA LA! spare tranny baby

Why didnt you just disassemble the good one and put the pieces in the good case?

I belive both cases were bad, one has the bell housing cracked at the front, and the other blew the gears/bearing area that connects to the transfer case. so he cut the section from the blown tranny, and welded it to the bell housing on the good tranny.

I just picked up the HO mag one. Love the thing. But your right, everyone called me crazy for spending soo much on it, but they all want to use it on their cars at home, lol. Since i bought it, I rarely use my IR 2135 titanium

Its definitely money well spent. Only time I pull out an air powered impact gun is when I need my 3/4" unit for stubborn crank bolts.

You don't have an extra transfer case do you? Or even an extra transfer case housing?

Nice fix! I've seen similar repairs made before, but dont remember exactly what caused the failure in the first place.
