I'm a complete car noob, and I've been having a problem with this Accord from '93. The first time, I was driving home, and the car would not accelerate, and it just started to slow down. So, I pulled off as it was slowing down, and let the car sit for a while. It started working again after 3 minutes.

Now, I just recently had this problem: I was waiting at a traffic light, and then the noise from the engine just shut off completely, and I was like "aw crap". The engine completely shut off. My car started reversing when I let off the brake, so I put it into park. I removed the key from the ignition and started it up again, and all I heard was revving.

My dad went and got me, and we left it in a parking lot. After 7 hours, we came back, and the car worked again as if nothing was wrong.

We brought it to the local maintenance center, and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I don't know if it overheated or what, but something was wrong with it, and I'm spooked whenever I drive the car.
