So, I've been looking at getting a VFR750 and need opinions
Well, I currently ride a CB400 Super Four that I have ridden on a daily basis for the last 7 months, and have logged more than 6000 miles of all conditions riding. I really like the CB400, but I've been looking to buy a sportbike as my next bike.
There is a 93 VFR750F for sale locally, in a really good price and from the pics it seems to be in very good condition. I'm tempted to go look at it, but first I would like to know a little more about the bike.
I know it's not a full on racing replica and it's performance is not up to par with modern machinery, but what could I expect from it? How does it performance stack up to compared to say, a F2 or similar aged bike?
Also common problems that this particular model had would be very helpful. Basically, any info about VFR750's would be great.
Thanks /26!

My buddy had a VFR of somewhere about that year, and he rode the hell out of that thing. He never did any maintenance on it, claimed to have dragged pegs, and it still ran well until it got impounded for riding without insurance (lol).
He also took a good amount of long rides, and said it was a really comfy bike.
I say do it.

Yeah... that's a great choice for a real world motorcyle. You can never go wrong with a vfr if shes running good

Those would be my 1st choice, but they are even more rare and much more expensive than a 3rd gen.
There was a 98 for sale at a really good price, but it was on the other side of the country and I couldn't sell my bike fast enough to get it

ive had a 00 fi model, and a 97. my dad had a 91 and 97, and my friend had a 91 too.
so what ive learned from the vfr is i love the 5th gen for the fuel injection and thats about it. my favorite models are the 91 with red paint andbronze wheels, the 93 white on white, which is most rare, or a 4th gen, they are the lightest
the vfr has an awesome powerplant, you cant beat a healthy v4. its about the same speed as an f3, its a low 11 second bike.
the thing i love about vfrs are you can put luggage on them, sport/tour tires, and a corbin seat and you ready to do some miles. on the other side, get some weight off, throw on some sticky tires and you can be dragging knees no problem.
i love vfrs, ive owned 2,lol but my only complaints with the bike is,
1 there too heavy
2 they need fork springs, or put an rc51 frontend on
3 def need a rear shock
its a great bike for the money

Those are excellent VFR's and one of my favorite generations. It's much sportier than the ones that replaced it and they look terrific. My neighbor has a 1993 that I've been dying for him to put up a for-sale sign.
