how can i tell if my trans is a b16???

how can i tell if my trans is a b16???
i bought this trans of a kid. he said it was a ys1 but not sure if it was lsd so i looked at it and it isnt lsd. i know the ys1 trans came in the ls integra the xsi integra with lsd and the usdm b17 gsr da integra. but how can i tell if it is a b16 or b17 trans and not the b18 ls trans??? the sticker number is "ys1 1009784" is there any way to look up the numbers and find out exactly what kind of car this trans come out of?

this is what i found when i googled ys1 specs but how can i confirm that it is indeed a b16 trans? would the honda dealer be able to tell?

There are a few methods of checking what model the transmission is by counting the rotations of the mainshaft and marking them...there is a thread on here somewhere.
The true way to know without a doubt is to open the transmission up and do a tooth count. That will be the 100% way.
The YS-1 is an identifier but, the numbers after mean nothing to us nor to a dealership....so they are of no use.
Either way...if the transmission is good internally..it is a good one to have. It is the only cable transmission that accepts parts from newer model hydraulic clutch actuated transmissions. So hang on to it! Interchangeability is a plus these days!

wow man thanks for the info on the tranny you seem like you really know your stuff. can i change over everything from a newer b16 hydro tranny into my ys1? and does the usdm b16 tranny come lsd?

Yes you can and No the USDM B16 Hydro trans did not come with LSD.
