No one is going to make the "It isn't NOS it is n2o" comment? Wow - that is a first

Anyways, no I haven't but I think that you can doa 55 shot or something like that on a stock block.

If I were you, I would add a little money and just get a little turbo kit.

My .02,

Dave

Not downing anyone running a Turbo @ low psi ... but i Personally cant see myself spending 3->4k on a turbo and boost low psi ... sorry .. spending that kind of money .. its either the extreme or nothing for me (;

50 shot of nitrous sounds more economical to me .... do your research man ... search all these forms ... and dont blow your **** up (;

I'm running a dry 65 shot on my B18B with bone stock internals. NGK plugs 2 steps colder and my timing is retarded 2 degrees, I haven't had any problems at all. I have been running it for about 6 months or so and just got a compression test last week, all cylinders were within 2% of each. Go for it, just don't go too squeeze happy and you'll be fine. Run a little rich too as added insurance, and possibly invest in an EGT gauge and fuel pressure gauge to keep an eye on things. PM me if you want more details about my setup

A 65 shot puts about 35 more hp at the wheels and should take about .6-.7 seconds off your 1/4 I believe

why keep spending money on refilling your tank, with a turbo you will have it forever or until you **** it up

here we go . i love turbo and i want to boost, just dont have money.
so i juiced it .
its a great mod . and you can go up to like 100 shot on that thing and it will take it . . . assuming you have the right fuel and is tuned.

Funny how he asks about N2O, and every jumps up to tell him turbo is better

He didn't ask which is better, he had a question about N2O.

A 75 shot of N2O on an LS will put you in the mid to low 14's. This can be done on stock internals as long as you retard the timing and have the right plugs.

35HP???????????? I HOPE NOT!! I have some articles and dyno charts of peeps putting a NX 50shot on the new civic EX whats that umm.. 1.6L SOHC vtec 127hp engine and it was doing 60hp at the wheels

if that week *** motor can get 60 ... ill be damned if my b18b gets 35 (:

$25 for a filled tank ... and get what .. (10) 50shotz in 10lb bottle ? im not sure exactly .. so $2.50 a shot ? sooo say i spray 10 times a week .... $100 a month would take 3 years to pay for a turbo at those generous figures

yes, ditch the platinum plugs and get the ngk coppers. they are like 5$ for a set.

I ran a 14.8 at 101 mph on a 65 shot with i/h/e on a 95 ls. I liked the nitrous, but it was a pain having to fill the bottle all the time. Shortly after, I got a turbo, and will never go back!

with a 5 speed LS; run a 75 shot. no problems, and it should go high 13s with traction.

Sorry but true - Post some dynos then. A 50 shot does not equal 50 whp, it just doesn't work that way, there are too many factors that bring the overall output down. Maybe 50 at the crank, but not at the wheels for sure.. If you have a proper exhaust, fuel and ignition setups, etc... you can increase the efficiency but still a 50 shot making 60 whp - I doubt it. Let's see those dynos

the whole install was in one of the Last few HoNDA Tuning Magazines ... ill get the Issue # and page #s when i get home and maybe scan the pages ... but a brand new stock EX civic made 60 whp from a NX 50 shot

I would put a 50 shot on it. No more just to be safe. My opinion.

it can handle 75 fine --- just get 2 step colder non platinum plugs, retard the timing, and spray away. however, to be safe, id get a fpr, fuel pump, and msd 6 ignition W/ rev limiter. that would make you set...you could probably run even higher.

a DRY 50 shot is equivalent to about 35 to wheels..maybe even less...
a single fogger wet 50 shot you'd get about 45-50 to the wheels...
direct port which i used to have will net you alil more then the actual shot to the wheels

in my opinion nitrous HP shots rating to me is not the important part...what is important is the torque gains

On the NX kit , the hp is at the wheels. It's why you see 60 WHP with a 60 HP jet on a NX nitrous kit. Don't forget it's a wet kit

i don't if this will help but, i have a 98 Ls teg automatic, that i had a 50 shot on, with cai, headers, exhaust, fuel rail and injectors. i was running 14.7 with nos on stock internals. when i changed my cams, cam gears, pistions, etc. i went up to a 75 shot and i was running 14 flat. Being that you have a 5 speed you might be able to run 14.5 or less with a 50 shot. i don't recommend that you run a 100 shot unless you want to blow your motor. then you have to think about if your going to be confortable running 14's. Sooner or later your going to want 13's. So if you know that your going to want lower than 14's, then save the money that you going to spend on the nos kit and find a gsr head and make a LS\Vtec. you can run 14 with this setup without nos. Then after you had you fun with that, then add nos.

I'd like to find the place where you can fill a 10lb bottle for 25 bucks......

Try 40- 50. It is usually like 4-5 dollars a lb.
