Default dpfi to mpfi swap

The reason that I'm posting this is because i have a 89 DX civic hatchback and I'm trying to do the duel-point to mulit-port conversion. The motor that I'm putting in is from a 90 Crx SI. I have made the swap and the car runs and idles. The reason why I'm still having problems is because the car will rev up to roughly 3000rpms and "top out". Meaning that the car feels like it hits the guvnor. The code on the ECU is a 4 (crank angle sensor) i have replaced the distributor with a "new one" but the car reacted the same. I also have 3 pm6 ECUs that i have tried as well all showing the same code. All of the connections have been checked, and checked again by someone that has done the swap before. Soder and heat shrink have been applied to all connections as well. This swap has been giving me a lot of trouble and i feel like it will never work out. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

what is happining is the dual point distributor is a small square plug with 6 wires and you have to use the distributor out of a si with the big 8 wire plug. youll also have to run the two wires into the car and wire them into the ecu plug

i got the distributor off of the d16a6 and wired the distributor with the same 6 wire plug from the duel point distributor because i couldnt find the 7 wire female end of the plug. some of the wires goin to the resistor box are kind of long and i was goin to shorten the wires to that to see if it would make a difference.

did you flip the 2 outer tps sensor wires? tps works backwards on duel point. and yea if you dont put blue green and blue yellow for the crank angle sensor it runs severly retarded spark. as far as resistor box i never run those any more just all yellow black wires together and use obd1 injectors

so it IS possible to go dpfi to mpfi without the resistor box... do what with the yellow and black wires?

check your throttle cable. i swapped out d15's on my car and had to check the throttle cable and the placement of the dizzy... (timing)

sorry been busy run all yellow with black lined wires from the 2 duel piont injectors to the injector harness yellow with black lined wires its 1 for each injector, if you have run the resistor box unplug it and take the harness clip off and splice all of the wires together. but and i say BUT! use only 92-95 injectors or later or you will burn your 88-91 injectors out!

You can also burn up an ECU if you use the wrong type of injectors without a resistor box.
