Former ITR owners (sold/stolen/wrecked/totalled)...what do you drive now?
Do you miss your ITR? I'm going through some early remorse before I even have a buyer lined up for mine. All my friends are giving me shiat for selling. Some of their reasons NOT to sell are starting to stick.
Sold. Not missing her too badly, because...

As you guys know, my '98 ITR was stolen earlier this year and has never been recovered. I miss it every time I see a CW ITR. I now have a Suzuka Blue Pearl S2000!

would you do it again if you could? In other words are you happier with the s2k than you were with the ITR? i've always been curious about people that 'moved up' to the st00k

My 97CW R got totaled back in 12/99, I did tell myself to grow up and buy something civilized but after hard thoughts and
my friend's support, I bought a 00 . Now 2 yrs later, I drive a 94 Tercel beater for work and leavethe R for sunny days and weekend. Now I do have thoughts of S2K because of headache in theft but my gf who owns 01 Celica GTS w/ action package tells me i would much regretted it. Its a tough decisions being a car guy!
Good Luck on a wise decisions.

I sold not one but two ITR's. (see signature) My reasons for selling were good ones. I was able to save money and buy a house after selling the first one and when I was laid off after 9-11, with a pregnant wife and a mortgage, I figured it was time to sell the second one. But now I am back on my feet and looking to purchase another CW ITR. My advice is, don't sell it unless you absolutely have to. You will regret it. I check Autotrader daily to see new posts for 98 ITR's and visit HT everyday and constantly get jealous of all the guys and gals on the board who are customizing their R's. This may sound a little Psycho but I have a shrine for my first ITR. I have the brochure framed along with the Realtime Racing Comptech ITR race car poster that Acura sent me after purchasing the ITR in 98' and I have the Window sticker framed with several pictures of my car at the track. BTW, I now share a 2000 VW Jetta with my wife.

Getting rid of the R was like getting rid a headache. Yeah, sure it was a fun (oh my god, so much fun) car and all, but having to worry about it anywhere that I went was a pain. The IS is a very fun well balanced RWD car. It has plenty of torque and I have added some TRD sway bars, which has really helped the handling. The car is also much quieter and most of all, I don't have to worry (as much) about it.

Look. This is really very simple for any ITR owner. If your R were stolen tomorrow and your insurance paid you a fair price for it, I gotta believe every one of us would have one of two reactions:
a. "Great! Now I have the chance to go buy something else, because I was tired of the R."
...or...
b. "Damn! I really loved that car. I don't know any other car I could get in the same price range that I would enjoy anywhere near as much. Now I'm stuck with trying to find another one that was as nice as mine."
If your answer is (a), get rid of it and don't worry what anyone else thinks. If your answer is (b), keep it (and don't worry what anyone else thinks).
My answer would be (b).

nsxtcjr ~ I guess you don't understand what I'm feeling right NOW. Who knows...what I'm just trying to ask is what you guys think. Maybe my fellow ITR boys can help me with this painful decision.

That said, I would not trade the M for an ITR
The R is special, but there are lots of special cars out there. No regrets here.

did you get the manual or the smg? eitherway, great to see you 'moved-up' in car-grade. that is one fine 'mobile!!!
i think i would probably pick a). i do LOVE my car, but if it were stolen, then from my point of view, keeping the car forever wasn't meant to be. i would get something a little more practical. a wrx wagon would definitely be on the list.

the car was stolen in may '02, now I drive an '03 TL-S. I love the TL-S but I really do miss the R so much. I had a fbp 00, maybe in the future I will purchase a CW R, I've always wanted one.
