alternator rebuild
i searched it up and someone said there was a post on team integra, but i cannot find it... anyone have a link to a write up for rebuilding an alternator? i know people are going to tell me to buy a new one but i just want to know how to do it..something i'de like to try..thanks
yea they say you only save about 40 bucks but hell if he wants to try it im not gonna stop him...i guess its another thing to put under your belt...i might try it with an old one that i have layin around

I tried taking an apart an old alternator that just needed new bearings. However I never could get the 2 housing halves apart, so I just replaced it. I think you need a puller or something to separate the housing, but I didn't and still don't have one.

I stopped reading that article at that point.
Also, if you can find a shop to do it, they're cheap. Theres a guy 15 minutes away from me that rebuilds alternators and starts within a day for $15...best money I've spent on labor in my life.
