1989 CRX Si won't start / no spark at plug

1989 CRX Si won't start / no spark at plug

Changed the distributor cap and rotor but car won't start. Pulled the spark plug and receive no spark. Smell gas at plug. What can be the problem (ignitor, main relay, ignition coil, control module???)

IMO sounds like ignitor but check the coil also

its for sure either the ignitor or ignition coil

this happened to my friends 91 Si the other day

Other guys are on track....ignition controller or pickup, likley controller. Could be coil, but the controllers on these fry because they're tucked in there with everything. Put a remote coil kit on it after you find out what the problem was, and save yourself some future grief. (used a 5.0 mustang unit that was laying around my shop, been good for three years so far.) -runnamukk in MD
