Default how to prep for a race??

ok so im going to the marina ufo event on august 10th and im wondering how to prep my car. i drive a 97 ls intake,muffler,tein coilovers, front and rear strut bars nothing to great but i wanna have some fun. i figure ill change the oil, gut the interior, take off ps belt, get a test pipe. i dont have that long so i want to do things that dont involve a lot of time/money. what else do you think i should/should'nt do. any and all points of view welcome

Slow down man. First of all what kind of race is it. Second don't take of the ps belt. third buy tires. last be ready to learn.

You need to give more info on what kind of race you are going to be in but,the general set up i would go with is get some good tires, and depending on the race get some stainless steel brake lies,no one likes to lose there brakes well going 100+ because there stock brake lines are way to hot and done, besides that depending on witch teins you have mess with the damping usually stiffer is better,but like i said it depending on what kind of racing you are going to be doing, good brake pads help also and of course after the race remember to change your fluids and as stated above PRACTICE...

its a track set up on a tarmac with cones. why shouldnt i take off my ps? there tein basics.

make sure your valves and stuff are all good, tires, check for leaks, ect.

yea i would check everything...

get it in the air and check for loose suspension components...
check tire PSI
Bleed\flush brakes
check all fluids
everything else suggested in this thread

im pretty sure dude was being sarcastic thats why i kept my ac and ps and im still taking these street racers where i live haha it's too damn hot to be without ac in modesto
