Engine Ligh is ON, Accord Stuck
Folks,
I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX thats been well maintained. It's done about 75K mi on it.
Yesterday when I was driving back from lunch, the car started jerking and kind was not moving forward and sudden would jump/jerk and start moving forward and repeat that cycle.
This kept happening at the traffic lights as well as while driving. I shut the engine off and put in on and see the check light ON.
Please can someone tell me what the probable cause would be, is dealer repair the best option? Any suggestions? And any estimates on how much it would cost if you have come across such problems?
Anyone know good mechanics around the Northern VA area?
Thanks a ton.

Hard to say what the problem is. Many things can cause your symptom. I always recommend the dealership. Sure, most dealers always have "that guy" that probably shouldn't be working on cars, but you are still more likely to find someone who knows more about Honda's than anywhere else.
I've seen torque converter clutches engaging when they shouldn't be. This can cause cars to jerk while driving, sometimes it makes them stall harshly at stops.
Save money and time by paying more at the dealership, if you know what I mean...
