i just bought a 2002 acura rsx type-s from a used car dealership and the radio says: "errr" or something like that. VIN: JH4DC530X2C010732 radio serial: U 1000 L 5163. i'm hoping someone can tell me what the code is or the best way to get it. thanks.

it constantly says that. i've read a little about it and i'm pretty sure i need some type of unlock code.

Edit: i've checked the glovebox, fusebox, trunk space, passenger door and couldn't find any stickers with codes.

I had to get an unlock code for my 02 rsx when i bought it and ended up getting it VERY easilly by just calling any acura dealership and giving them the serial that shows up on your radio. They could guide you through it if you cant find your radio serial. I thought i was gunna have to look behind my radio to get it but somehow it showed up on the screen. GET THE SERIAL AND CALL! Super easy!

 

if you have the owners manual. it says your radio code right on the cover!!!

 

Open your glovebox, on the left side of it there should be a white sticker w/ the code.punch that in using the pre set buttons

 

Yup if its not in your users manual the dealer can get it for you. Its just a safety for the radio. But also thiefs can make keys of your vin now a days so don't just throw it all over the place.
