Default Lowe Performance in ALTON, IL - Anyone tuned by them ?

I never even knew this tuner existed because all I ever heard of was Whipfactory but they are too far away from me and Lowe Performance is less than half the distance for me and besides I heard that Superdave of Whipfactory only tunes when he IS in IL nowdays ...

I called them up (Lowe) and they were friendly and the guy knew exactly what I was talkin about - but I have never heard of anyone gettin tuned by them so I was wondering if anyone can chime in on LOWE PERFORMANCE before I decide to go there to get tuned - Thanks!!

BTW, their website is http://www.loweperformance.net

Yeah I heard that Superdave is kinda hard to come by nowdays - but damn I have been researching Lowes Performance and I have heard nothing but good things about them - absolutely ZERO bad stories - wow they must be good.

Sucks about the DWI man but its great you will get it back soon. I looked at stlhondas.com and even there Lowe Performance has got lots of respect from the members.

Lowes it is then - I will come post my experience once I go there which will not be anytime soon, probably a few weeks

I was not tuned there but alot of people on that board speak very highly of LOWE. He has done some bolt on or boosted hondas for sure, dunno how wild of setups they were or anything cause alot of people keep numbers to themselves or their cirlces of friends. As I said though people seemed pleased with the results.

Sorry I cannot speak from first hand experience but like suggested you may want to sign up over on the local board and post up.

Haha, funny that you mentioned that - at the last car show I went to I met a guy in a Turbo Teg with a fully built B18C1 puttin out 450Hp and he told me how it was a "Day and Night" difference from goin to Adrenaline and Whipfactory with the same setup.

Now seeing that Dave is hard to get a hold off I was kinda lost as to what I was gonna do but its great I found Lowe now or otherwise some serious travelling would have been involved

yeah I think Chuck from Adrenaline uses other peoples maps and the maps off of the Hondata website and just modifies them a bit,not really ever doing a full tune and his place is always jam packed with cars so he tries to rush through everything,I had my car tuned there last year when i had a stock b16 and made 225whp at 5psi which i think is pretty decent but i never got to see how long it would last

I would really really like to go to TX and have Tony from T1 tune my car, every person that has ever posted there T1 tuned cars on here have nothing but good things to say and always put down great numbers.

i know the teg you speak of from the local grapevine talk. when it went to dave it was not making the power, running terribly, etc... the 2d map looked like someone was trying to play tic tac toe from what I understand.

after suprdave the car left making power, running clean on all cyls, and getting decent gas mileage out of boost. they may have improved some but basically they just touch up basemaps... it shows when b series cars on low boost have left them making like 30whp more than bolt on n/a cars.

I dont have much more to say about them (adrenaline) as I would never chance taking my car to them for anything, they dont put out quick cars thats why they transitioned to drifting in many peoples honest opinion.

yeah there was some kid that made a post about getting tuned there about a couple months ago and when he posted the map in the drag racing forum a bunch of people said the map was from the Hondata site with just a little bit of fuel added here and there...well not even a week later he cracks a sleeve,i know it couldve have been from bad gas or faulty fuel pump but he was pretty sure it was the shitty tune.

Wow, that's why I am kinda paranoid about who I take the car to because firstly it is an H22A and those are not really "boost friendly" from what I read so I am guessing a little mess up could be a disaster for it...

Well I finally went to Lowe's and let me tell you these guys KNOW their stuff. Firstly, John and his staff are the most friendly tuners / mechanics I have ever met which is VERY important to me (customer service). Then, come to find out my ECU was not chipped properly due to some bad soldering, etc. and he was even able to take the ECU apart and fix that! I am glad I did not drive on the "basemap" because the ECU was NOT even reading the basemap due to the bad soldering and was running off the stock program according to John!!

Car made close to 300hp on 93 Octane only and this is a stock H22A at 8 PSI. AF Ratio is near perfect and it drives fantastic. I am TOTALLY happy with their work and would recommend them to anyone who is in IL or anywhere else for that matter.

I am still amazed and my car is like possossed now I need to get some better tires next ...

This is their website if you guys want to get some PROPER tuning done in and around IL - http://www.loweperformance.net/

i just talked to them on the phone the other day.

seems like a good place but my only question is did they let you hang out while he tuned your car? they told me they like to keep the car around for a couple days to the tuning because john is usually busy and cant always tune it all at once?? i want to be there while my car is getting tuned so i can learn as much as possible.

but they seem like a goooooood place to go to
